Epilepsy, toxin exposure, brain tumors, medication reactions, hypoglycemia, vaccinosis, liver disease - and so many other conditions can be the cause of the seizures and you most certainly will need to have a veterinarian investigate the cause and treatment.
Unfortunately, once seizures present, it is rare for them to be eliminated; but they can be supported with medication, a species appropriate diet, and essential oils.
Dogs and cats with with seizures, epilepsy, head tilts, vestibular disease, head trauma and other neurological issues can benefit from using both NeuroBoost™ (applied directly to your pet).
We have integrated both NeuroBoost™ with NeuroBalance™ Diffusion Blend for a layered approach - which we find the most beneficial with difficult health issues.
Note: NeuroBoost™ has been used with many animals on a variety of medications, not just those used as anticonvulsants. When used properly, essential oils are safe in medically managed patients.
How To Use NeuroBoost™:
Drip the oils up the back and massage in, or apply the drops to your hands and then apply them to your dog or cat in a petting manner.
How Much Should You Use?
For animals new to essential oils - starting with less than the recommended amounts, or with further diluted oils can be a good way to ensure you do not create an oil aversion.
You may not see results with lesser amounts, or with further diluted oils sometimes, but since we are also wanting to create a "happy" situation with oil use , and not overwhelm them - the added time to slowly build up concentrations of essential oil use can be worth it.
How Often Can I Use NeuroBoost™ ?
Dogs and cats with active neurological issues can receive a "boost" every day or every other day. You know your dog best and can gauge frequency - it is safe for daily use.
For regular maintenance every 3-7 days is recommended.
It is important to keep in mind that essential oils aren't miracle "cures" for neurological conditions. Neurological issues are very slow to heal and will need nutrition and often traditional medicine intervention. You should expect to support your dog or cat for months (3-5) before you may notice any changes. You can learn more about supporting your dog's neurological issues here.
For dogs who have been diagnosed with a neurologic disease - it is important that you work with your veterinarian, and monitor your dog closely with their aid. Never neglect the use of veterinary diagnostics and traditional treatments when they are indicated, and make sure to tell your vet that you are using natural substances that help support nerve health and function.
