Unlike petroleum-based waxes or beeswax, carnauba wax is hypoallergenic and allows skin to breathe while providing a protective barrier against environmental damage. It is a natural humectant — it draws moisture to the skin and helps retain it.

What Pet Parents Ask Most About This Balm
The balm does not contain essential oils that are known to be toxic to cats. That said, we formulate for dogs — if you'd like to use it on another species, we recommend checking with your vet first.
Yes — the healing balm works beautifully on dry paw pads, cracked noses, elbow calluses, hot spots, hyperkeratosis, scar tissue, bug bites, and general skin irritation. One important exception: do not use on fungal or yeast infections. If you suspect a yeast or fungal issue, please consult your veterinarian.
Beeswax is an animal byproduct — and that's not in line with who we are. Carnauba wax comes from the leaves of the carnauba palm. It's 100% plant-derived, hypoallergenic, and allows your dog's skin to breathe while locking in moisture. Same protection. No compromise on our values.
Use your fingertip to dip into the balm and apply directly to your dog's nose, paw pads, elbows, or any irritated skin area. The balm absorbs quickly. For best results, apply at bedtime so it can work overnight without being licked or worn off.
Yes — all ingredients are non-toxic and safe if licked. The balm absorbs quickly, so the healing properties will still work even if some is licked off. Two tips if your dog is an enthusiastic licker: apply right after a big walk when they're tired, or distract them with a treat or their favorite toy right after application.
We have found two things that can help if your dog loves to lick off the balm:
1. Apply the balm and then distract them with a treat, their favorite toy, or a game.
2. The stealth approach - apply it when they are exhausted after a walk or when soundly sleeping!
Daily for maintenance when skin is healthy.
When actively healing, apply 2–3 times per day. Bedtime is the optimal application — it gives the balm the most uninterrupted time to absorb and work.
Most customers will notice a difference after the first bath or after the first application of paw and nose protector.
We have had customers tell us that after the first bath their dog wasn't scratching anymore.
There are a lot of factors that can make your dog itchy. Their shampoo is just one of those factors. If your dog is still scratching after use, you should look at their food, allergies, and thyroid health.
One of the dogs in our pack has thyroid issues. She has been helped by adding natural salmon oil into her daily diet.
Yes. Our products are safe and non-toxic and while some is licked off, there is likely enough left on the paws after applied for it to do its job.
We suggest applying when your dog is winding down to go to sleep, after a big play session, or when distracting them with their favorite toy or a treat.
Completely normal and totally safe. If the balm gets warm and then cools quickly — say, left in a hot car or near a heat source — the natural waxes can crystallize as they re-solidify, creating a bumpy or grainy texture on the surface. This is the carnauba wax doing exactly what natural waxes do. The formula is unchanged and works exactly the same way.
Nothing at all wrong with it!
That's actually a sign of how natural it is.
Because every ingredient in this balm is 100% natural, the color can vary from batch to batch. Hemp oil runs darker and greener; shea butter runs lighter and creamier.
Depending on the natural variation in each harvest, your balm may be anywhere from a rich green to a pale ivory. The formula, the quality, and the results are exactly the same either way. If your balm smells clean and earthy and melts easily on contact with skin — it's perfect.
Tocopherol is Vitamin E — derived from sunflower, not a lab. It is one of the few preservatives approved for use in certified organic products. There are no petrochemicals, no mineral oil, no synthetic preservatives of any kind in this balm. If it sounds unfamiliar, that's just chemistry — it's as clean as it gets.
