Name: Aloe barbadensis
Extraction: Ground and cold pressed to extract the leaf juice. Our aloe juice is then decolorized - meaning after the juice is extracted from the aloe plant, it is filtered through a charcoal activated filter. This ensures the aloe vera is virtually free of the toxic constituents found in aloe latex - the bitter yellow sap between the rind and the inner leaf of the aloe plant.
What is Aloe?
The aloe plant grows readily in warm climates and is cultivated for agriculture to medicinal uses.
For over 6000 years aloe vera has been known as the natural healer - able to rapidly heal cuts, dry skin, and moisturize skin and hair/fur.
Aloe is used to treat a variety of skin conditions from flaky or dry skin, burns, scrapes, eczema, dandruff, psoriasis, and more.
How does Aloe work?
Aloe are packed with polysaccharides and flavonoids with high antioxidant activities and antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. These help to improve the flow of blood to damaged areas, improving collagen formation while keeping the dry skin moist and protected.
How do we use it?
We use organic, the highest grade of aloe vera in all of our USDA Certified Organic Dog Shampoos! Our aloe was grown without the use of pesticides, synthetic fertilizers, sewage sludge, genetically modified organisms, or ionizing radiation.
In addition to acting as a moisturizer to soothe dry skin, aloe also acts as a natural conditioner and helps smooth the hair shaft, making the hair shinier, glossier, more manageable, and healthier.
Is Aloe safe?
Externally, is safe, non-toxic, sustainable, and biodegradable. So, it is safe for you, your dog, and our planet!
